Deepinder said that Zomato is prepared to provide food delivery after 8 PM and said they won’t do it as they are abiding by the letter of law. On Tuesday, Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had announced tough restrictions to prevent the rise of COVID 19 cases and it included a ban on gatherings and only essential activities to break the chain of Covid infections.
“Zomato is prepared to provide the essential food delivery service post 8pm in Mumbai, but we are not doing so because we are abiding by the letter of the law. I see our competition is continuing to operate post 8pm. I urge @MumbaiPolice to please clarify the way forward here.” read the tweet of Deepinder who added the screen shot of Swiggy advertisement.

Many users of social media platforms came up with reactions making fun of the scenario. “You literally added some food to the cart and checked whether they are allowing you to place the order. Well played” said a twitter user to Deepinder whereas another one said “Teacher teacher, please see what Rahul, Sriharsha and Nandan are doing behind your back”
