Yuvan Shankar Raja answered to the Instagram followers of his wife Zafroon Nizar who asked whether she forced him to convert into Islam. The music composer answered through video from his wife’s official Instagram account. When Zafroon conducted a Question and answer session in Instagram with her followers, many of them insisted her to answer on Yuvan’s religious conversion. In February 2014, Yuvan announced through his Twitter account that he had embraced Islam religion and acquired the name “Abdul Khaliq”. He married to Zafroon on the 1st January of 2015 and the couple had a baby girl on 7th April 2016. They named her as Ziya.

One of a fan blamed Zafroon by saying that she converted Yuvan into a Muslim. “Nalla Iruntha Yuvan-ah Ipdi Maathittingle, Paakave Kashtama Iruku” the fan said through his comment to which Zafroon immediately replied by writing “That shows how shallow you are”.

When the follower kept confronting Zafroon through his comments, Zafroon revealed that Yuvan was practicing Islam for almost four years before she met him. She further stated that Yuvan has found all the answers he seeks in Quran and that’s why he prefers it above other religions.

On seeing many people questioning the same and on reading their comments which blamed her for converting Yuvan, a son of Ilayaraja, an ardent spiritual Hindu religion follower into a Muslim, Zafroon got extremely frustrated and asked whether she should bring Yuvan on live one day to answer their questions.

“Should I do a live video/interview with Yuvan on questions pertaining his faith ? and why he chose Islam? Will that help ? A lot of you keep messaging me out of curiosity, So I’m wondering”

Now, she bought her husband to make him answer the questions of her followers. While answering to a question on the thing that he loves the most about Islam, Yuvan said that he loves the religion because it preaches that no one is superior than anyone.

“To many of the questions that raised within me including where our soul goes in our afterlife and about the inequality in our society between rich and poor, I got the answer in Quran. Like our family and our country, the entire universe requires a leader. I felt it deeply while reading Quran.” said the music composer.
