A 24 year old youth named Thava Kannan got arrested by Chennai Police for planting a camera at the bathroom of Sangeetha hotel in Chennai. He was involved in recording the videos of women and was caught by a member of DMK named Bharathi who belongs to Maduravoyal, Chennai. While working on contesting in the local body election, she went to the famous Sangeetha hotel which is located near Guindy Railway station to have launch.

When she went to the hotel’s bathroom, she happened to see a box inside and began to suspect. After checking the box, she got shocked as there was a cell phone planted and was recording a video. She immediately informed her relatives and confiscated the cell phone. She went on to inform the hotel management as well.

Police officers of Guindy station immediately arrived at the spot after receiving a complaint. In the preliminary investigation, Police found that the hotel employee named Thava Kannan was recording videos of women through his cell phone. Police continued the investigation by arresting Thava Kannan and made interrogations by confiscating his cell phone.

Thava Kannan who originally belongs Virudhunagar, joined the hotel as an employee three months ago, according to Police reports. DMK Women wing member Bharathi, in her complaint, said that criminals could have working on recording women’s videos as a gang. She also requested Police to make a detailed investigation to people who are involved in this vicious crime.

In another incident that took place in Purasaiwakkam, Chennai, a youth who went to deliver food at an apartment, removed his clothes in a lift after a woman entered in it. The 24 year old youth named Vignesh who belongs to Soolai, went to Prince apartments that is located in Purasaiwakkam to deliver vegetables.

After delivering food at a house in 6th floor, he returned to the lift and saw a woman entering it. The woman was identified as a household employee who was working in that apartment. As soon as realizing that they both are alone in the lift, Vignesh removed all his clothes and involved in an obscene gesture, says the report of News 18. 

Based on the complaint made by the house owner, a complaint was registered in Kilpauk All women police station and the youth got arrested. Public who came to know about such incidents happening against women in the capital of the state in a constant manner, demanded severe action against the culprits through social media platforms to prevent such crimes happening in future.
