While addressing the press after being honoured with doctorate title, Yogi Babu reacted to a reporter’s question on the comparison between “Beast” and his film “Gurkha”. The comedy actor who initially tried to skip answering the question, said that “Beast” will be extremely good as it is a Thalapathy film and recommended everyone to watch it in theatres.

After release of “Beast” trailer, users of the micro blogging social media site, started trending hashtags such as “Gurkha 2”, and “Money Heist” to indicate that the trailer of the film looks similar to those film and series. Fans of actor Vijay are counter attacking the hashtags saying that invasion thriller is a genre and many films got released under it. However, number of tweets under the hashtags only increased.

Now, actor Yogi Babu who attended a function to receive doctorate title with seasoned actor MS Bhaskar, faced a question from a reporter on the comparison. The actor, initially tried to escape from the reporters and later stayed.

“I know it. I know it since I was entering” Yogi said, denoting that he expected such question from the reporters. “It’s like as usual. The film will become a huge hit as Vijay sir is starring in it. Beastu “Thaaru Maaru”. Go and watch” Babu said.

The film is scheduled to release on 13th of April and the bookings of the tickets are taking place across the state in full swing. The trailer starts with the voice over of veteran filmmaker Selvaraghavan who played a character in the film. He starts narrating the story of the film and also introduces Vijay’s character to the audience. The film is about terrorists hijacking a shopping mall and actor Vijay who is described as “one of the best and most notorious spies India ever had” getting trapped in it with public.

The 3 minute long trailer shows “Veera Raghavan”, played by Vijay fighting with the terrorists and delivering punch dialogues about how he dislikes the ugly politics of government. Pooja Hegde, Yogi Babu, Shaji are some of the supporting actors who could be seen appearing in the trailer along with Vijay.

Director Nelson Dilipkumar, in his recent interview with a media portal, while talking about the comparison between “Beast” and “Gurkha”, said that people did tell him about how audience will get reminded about the Yogi Babu starrer. “I had seen that film as Redin Kingsley is a part of it and it’s director Sam Anton is also my friend. Just like flight hijacks, mall sieges are a sub genre and there are many films on it. What we do with it determines how different it is from other films” Nelson reportedly said.
