Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma. Subramanian, in his recent interaction with press reporters, had said that the government would seek an explanation from the celebrity couple Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara who welcomed their twin babies on Sunday. They who got married on 9th of June, welcomed their twin babies through surrogacy, says reports.

“Surrounding surrogacy is a topic of discussion” the minister said while answering to a journalist who asked whether the couple had registered with the health department. “There is already and issue over egg cells. As per the rules, an adult married woman aged between 21 and 35 years can donate her egg with the permission of her parents or husband. We will ask the Director of Medical Services to enquire whether they followed due process” the Minister further said.

The reporter further asked whether the couple followed the protocols which says that a couple in India should go through surrogacy only after 5 years of their marriage life. The reporter also mentioned about the marriage ceremony of the celebrity couple taking place only 4 months ago. “We will direct the director of medical service and would consider about the same” the minister replied.
