The fraudulent scheme was uncovered when the woman’s husband, Vijay Dutt, bravely filed a complaint with the local police. Armed with a fake Aadhaar card belonging to a passenger from the NOCCI area in Balasore, she claimed that her husband was among the deceased in the train accident. However, her attempt to manipulate the situation and dishonestly obtain the compensation money was quickly uncovered during the verification process carried out by the police.

The fraudulence of Gitanjali Dutta’s claim was revealed when the police carefully scrutinized the documents she had provided.
