Tamil nadu finance minister Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan who has been making headlines by giving fitting replied to his haters in the micro blogging social media site, garnered wide attention on Wednesday after replying to a woman who compared him with actor Kamal Haasan for mentioning the relationship between his family and former deputy Chief minister O. Panneer Selvam’s wife who died due to heart attack. The woman denoted that PTR and Kamal Haasan are boasting about their personal matters while addressing about public issues and while paying condolences.

On Wednesday morning, Vijayalakshmi Panneer Selvam, wife of AIADMK co-ordinator and Deputy leader of the opposition in the State Assembly, O Panneer Selvam died of a heart attack at a Private hospital at Perungudi. It has been reported that she was getting treatment for the past couple of weeks. The last rites are expected to be paid on Thursday after her body reaching Periyakulam, native place of O. Panneer Selvam.

Chief minister MK Stalin, Minister Durai Murugan, Thangam Thennarasu, PK Sekar Babu, Edappadi K Pazhaniswami, leader of opposition and other senior functionaries of the AIADMK party paid respects to the mortal remains of Vijayalakshmi at the hospital and pictures and videos of the leaders consoling O. Panneer Selvam did rounds in social media platforms.

Tamil nadu finance minister Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, before leaving to pay his last respects, uploaded a tweet through his official twitter handle, remembering his relationship with the deceased. The minister said that the families of them had been closely associated for more than 3 generations in their native Uthamapalayam.

On seeing this tweet of him, a twitter user named Azhagi compared PTR with Kamal Haasan and complained about the family reference PTR made in his tweet. She denoted that both are boasting about their personal achievements while sending condolence messages to others. “Kamal Haasan of politics – PTR. The tweet garnered the attention of PTR himself who came up with a reply explaining the relationship between his family and Vijayalakshmi Panneer Selvam. He further trolled the twitter user based on her display picture and bio details. “Her family showered affection on us for decades. I pay respects to her, and my forefathers I get the identity crisis of an immigrant wannabe intellectual who calls herself Azhagi, hides behind a DP icon, & is seeking relevance back “home”. But don’t demean yourself out of envy” his reply read.
