Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is busy promoting his upcoming film “Vikram” with his director Lokesh Kanagaraj. On Wednesday, the actor participated in a press meet and answered to many questions of the reporters. One of the reporters, asked the legendary actor who has 60 years of experience in film industry, why Tamil films are not doing Rs. 1000 collection like other language films such as “RRR” and “KGF”. He asked Kamal Haasan to tell who commits the mistake in Tamil film industry to not achieve the feat.

In reply, Kamal Haasan said that we can’t blame single person for a failure as we can’t give credits to a single person in a victory. The actor also mentioned that it is a circle and movie from all the language would be making waves and opined that it’s healthy for the film industry.

“Vikram” is slated to release of 3rd of June across the globe. After releasing the NFT of the film at Cannes, conducting a grand audio launch and participating in television shows to promote the film, Kamal also conducted a press meet in Chennai and answered to the reporters.

Kamal Haasan faced many questions including on the usage of “Ondriyam” in his “Pathala Pathala” song, how it feels for him to work with a younger director etc. A reported had the courage to ask Kamal what stops Tamil films from doing Rs. 1000 box office like “RRR” and “KGF” which are from Telugu and Kannada film industry.

Answering to his question, Kamal Haasan said “A success of cinema doesn’t belong to one single individual. A film will get ruined if a single person among the 200 commits a mistake” in the interview.

“Everyone will get their due credit after achieving success but when it comes to failure, everyone would try to blame one single person. That’s not true. How could one single person be the reason for a failure. A producer comes forward and invests on a project after believing in it. It is a chain process because of which we can’t blame a single individual” Kamal Haasan said and went on to add how the success of a certain regional film industry has been a circle process in India.

Referring to the success of KGF and RRR, Kamal Haasan said “It is a circle. At a point, Bollywood director Ramesh Sippy of “Sholay” fame whom we all admired, bought the story of our “Thangapathakkam” and made it in Hindi as “Shakti”. The circle will keep rotating” Kamal Haasan said.
