Santhanam is an Indian film actor and producer whose main works are in Tamil cinema. Beginning his career as a comedian on television, he rose to fame through his performances in STAR Vijay’s Lollu Sabha enacting the lead role in spoofs of Tamil films.

After starting his career as a prominent comedian, Santhanam now appearing in his films in lead role. Santhanam was last seen in the sequel of his movie Dhilluku Dhuttu, a horror comedy movie.

Recently, the first look of his upcoming film “Dacalty” released in which he is seen in a rugged look. Directed by Shankar’s former assistant Vijay Anand, the most wanted comedy actor Yogi Babu also plays an important role in the film. Produced by Santhanam’s own production house Handmade Films and SP Chowdhary’s 18 Reels, Rittika Sen plays Santhanam’s pair in Dagaalty and Vijay Narain is composing the music.

A day after the First look release Santhanam posted an apology tweet which read as “Dacalty” first look poster was inadvertently uploaded. Have realised that it may promote smoking which is injurious to health. Will ensure my future films will never carry such posters.”

However few of his followers doesn’t seemed to be convinced by the tweet and many Vijay fans raised voice against those who protested for Sarkar’s first look. In the First look Vijay also seen holding Cigarette in his mouth.

Few political parties including PMK protested and made Sun Pictures to take down the first look poster. Check out some of the reactions from Vijay fans here :
