BJP’ candidate in East Delhi Gautam Gambhir has an edge over his AAP counterpart Atishi Marlena in the Lok Sabha polls, as per early trends. The former cricket star will open the account in style as a politician if he wins the seat.
Former cricketer and BJP candidate Gautam Gambhir is leading from East Delhi according to the Lok Sabha election results. Mr Gambhir is contesting against AAP’s Atishi and Congress’s Arvinder Singh Lovely in the constituency.
During the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections in East Delhi, Atishi had accused Mr Gambhir of circulating derogatory pamphlets that attacked her personally.
The BJP candidate denied the allegations and responded with a defamation notice, to which Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia also shot a similar counter-threat.
Now Gautam Gambhir, is way ahead of his rivals with 3,10,086 votes and counting and is all set to win. As his win is almost confirmed, the veteran cricketer thanked his former colleague Harbhajan Singh and lauded his performance in the IPL season. His interaction with Harbhajan took place in twitter after the hearty wishes from the CSK’s off spinner.
Bhajji through his official twitter account wrote “Congratulations my brother for your win @GautamGambhir 👍🤛 💪 more power to you @BJP4India”

In his reply Gauti wrote “Thanks a lot Bhajji paa. Ur wishes mean a lot to me. Just hoping to make a difference to as many lives as possible. Saw a glimpse of you in @IPL, the turn, the bounce everything is there Phaji.”
