A student who returned from Ukraine slammed the Indian government for not taking precautions on saving him and other students who were stranded in Ukraine due to Russia’s invasion and expressed his displeasure over being welcomed with a rose flower.

“We are being given this flowers after returning to India. What should I do with this rose? What would I do if something happened to us there?” a student named Divyanshu Singh said while interacting with media. He who fled to Ukraine was flown back from Hungary on Thursday.

“Had the government taken action on time, there would have been no need to give us these roses” furious Divyanshu said. Our government is at fault. The US government informed it’s citizens on time, ours told us at the very end” he added.

One more student who was flown by the Indian air force from Bucharest told media that the government should not be calling this as an evacuation. “They bought us flight from a safe country, Romania, to here. How can this be called an evacuation? ” She asked.

“We do not want free flights, we want help to reach the borders” She further said and added that government should help all Indians, particularly who are stranded in Sumy and Kharkiv to reach the Western border safely.

A student from Bengaluru named Aneesh said that the government did not have the “guts” to step foot in Ukraine. He who was a part of students who was flown back to Karnataka from Hungary, said that his group was able to reach the Hungary border safely only because of the Indian flag that they had attached to the bus and urges the ministers to “stop showing off”.
