The post garnered wide reach among her followers with many wishing her back for the festival. In a meantime, a number of online users criticized the way she was dressing and a user named Rinku Pandey dropped a comment saying “I respect your sentiments, but wearing a saree without a blouse is nowhere in the line with Indian tradition”

The comment grabbed the attention of Fiona herself who immediately replied with a collage picture that consisted older Indian women donning saree without a blouse and said “No. Please learn the history of your own country I know the history of your country better. Before there were no blouses in India. the blouses were brought/ created by the British colonists. Do not forget the history of your country (ancient India). With the statues on the temples, yes you can’t erase the true history of the past so it might be time to respect the past”
