Chasing a gettable total of 173 runs, the Dhoni led team lost wickets in regular interval and couldn’t chase down the target in the given 20 overs. With the loss, Chennai got eliminated from the tournament as they have clinched only 3 wins so far. “We need to keep looking about what went wrong, it is easy to get distracted with how many points you have, it is the mistakes and it is the process that matters rather than where you are positioned in the points table” Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said in the post match interview.
Dhoni who was expected to finish the match, got out in the first ball of the 19th over, bowled by Josh Hazlewood. Going for a pull off the short delivery, Dhoni hit it to flat and was caught by Rajat Patidar. He returned to pavilion with 2 runs from 3 balls. The moment Dhoni got out, Kohli who knew about the importance of the wicket, celebrated it in his own style.
The former RCB captain aggressively punched in the air and shouted “Bencho**” to express his excitement. The particular clip got chopped out and is being trended in social media platforms with many fans questioning whether Kohli abused Dhoni.

However, it is very well known that Kohli has huge respect on Dhoni and has always identified him as his captain, even during captaining team India while Dhoni was merely playing as a player. The aggression, for which he is known of, is natural and shows the commitment Kohli has for his game and there’s nothing personal between himself and Dhoni which is evident in the post match hug between the duo.
Here’s some of the reactions :
Whatever the level of rivals Mi and CSK are I have never seen Rohit Sharma disrespecting MS Dhoni the way Virat Kohli abused Mahi today.

WTF did Kohli really abuse Dhoni?
If that’s true, then 0 respect for Kohli from now on.. 70 centuries doesn’t justify abusing a legend like MS.. what happened to his “you’ll always be my captain” lines?
