Actor cum politician Vijay Vasanth who contested in the Kanyakumari constituency on behalf of Indian National Congress, defeated BJP’s Pon Radhakrishnan by 1,34,344 votes. He garnered 5, 67, 250 votes whereas the BJP candidate managed to get 4,32, 906 votes. Since Vijay registered his victory, many of his colleagues from the film industry are wishing him. Meanwhile, a follower asked him to visit the constituency now and then if he wants to win the next election. Replying to him, Vijay said that he will always be in the constitution, not to win the next election but to express his gratitude for making him win in this election.

Vijay Vasanth contested in Kanyakumari after the demise of his father Vasantha Kumar who died of COVID 19 infection. Vasantha kumar was acting as a member of parliament fpr Kanyakumari while he was alive. On behalf of Congress and DMK alliance, Vijay Vasanth replaced his father and contested opposing BJP’s Pon Radhakrishnan who got defeated by Vasantha Kumar last time.

While replying to the wishes of his friends and colleagues in Twitter, Vijay also replied to a twitter user who asked him to visit the constituency if he wants to win the next election. “அடுத்த எலக்சன்லயும் வின் பண்ணனும் நினைச்சிங்கனா தொகுதி பக்கம் அப்பப்ப தலைய காட்டுங்க ப்ரோ” tweet of the user read.

Responding to him Vijay said “Not now and then bro, I am always going to be in the constituency.
