Three candidates who belongs to Thalapathy Vijay’s “Vijay Makkal Iyakkam” has won in the areas they contested so far and fans of the actor can’t keep calm as they already started trending “Vijay Makkal Iyakkam” a the top in the micro blogging social media site. Parvez who contested in ward 4 in Pudhukottai Municipality has been declared as a winner.

Mohan Raj who also belongs to Vijay Makkal Iyakkam contested as an Independent candidate in ward 3 of Ranipettai Walajapet municipality. A candidate who contested in the Namakkal district has also registered his victory which increased VMI’s winning percentage. In the 7 areas VMI candidates contested, they won in three which came in as a surprise to political analysts and experts.

Itt is notable tha actor Vijay didn’t do direct campaign to his party members as they contested as Independent candidates in the election. A proper symbol, party name, flag and other functionaries of the party are yet to be announced officially.

Fans of the actor started trending hashtags and designs in social media platforms in a way of celebrating the victory. “Is #VijayMakkalIyakkam becoming the biggest alternative to the DMK, AIADMK in TN now?” journalist Akshitha Nandhagopal asked through one of her tweets whereas Avinash Ramachandran, another journalist wrote a tweet stating “#VijayMakkalIyakkam’s performance in #localbodyelection2022 is an interesting political development. Can’t brush it off as a one-off thing. They might not be an “alternative” yet, but electoral politics is a marathon. Where would they go from here would be interesting to follow”
