Samantha Ruth Prabhu confirmed her role as the female lead in the Indian installment of the spy franchise- Citadel of Russo Brothers. On Wednesday, the actress dropped the first poster of her character from the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series. In the meantime, promotions for her upcoming movie “Shaakunthalam” is also going on in full swing.

On seeing such updates, an ardent fan of actor Vijay Devarakonda tagged the actress and asked her about her film with his idol “Kushi”. Tagging the production house, Vijay Devarakonda and filmmaker Shiva Nirvana, the actress said that the shoot will commence soon and asked apology to the fans of the “Arjun Reddy” actor.

In reply, Vijay Devarakonda said that he and the entire crew will wait for Samantha to return with full health and with her big smile to which the “Theri” actress replied back saying that she is “Grateful”.

Sharing the first look of her “Citadel”, Samantha wrote, ” the mission is on fire. we have started rolling for the Indian instalment of Citadel”.

A month ago, Varun Dhawan was officially announced as the male lead for the series. “We are thrilled to officially announce that we will be bringing you the Indian instalment of the Citadel universe” Russo Brothers said in an Instagram post.

Official confirmation about Samantha’s role in the series kept a full stop to the rumours that said that the actress might be replaced due to her illness. Last year, Samantha made the headlines after she announced that she has been under treatment for an autoimmune ailment called “Myositis”. Reports emerged saying that the actress is planning to quit acting in films till she comes back to normalcy. However, her recent announcements made her fans extremely angry.
