Amidst the enormous number of wishes received by Superstar Rajinikanth after he received the “Dadasaheb Phalke Award”, a number of people in social media spewed hatred at him by trolling him in an inappropriate way for no particular reason. On Friday, film director Perarasu who worked with Thalapathy Vijay and Thala Ajith during his prime time, came up with a post slamming people who caused the trolls.

Actor Rajinikanth who is fondly called as “Super star”, “Thalaiva” and predominantly worked in Tamil film industry will be honoured with the 2019 Dadasaheb Phalke award. The announcement was made by Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar in the morning of Thursday.

The announcement emerged days before the assembly elections which is scheduled on 6th of April. While questions were raised on the connection with the large fan base of Rajinikanth and the assembly elections, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar responded saying “This is an award related to the film world and Rajinikanth has been working for 50 years…one must ask proper questions,”

From Prime minister Narendra Modi to the actor’s long time friend and Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan, almost all the celebrated personalities from the country wished him the best for the achievement. “Popular across generations, a body of work few can boast of, diverse roles and an endearing personality…that’s Shri @rajinikanth Ji for you. It is a matter of immense joy that Thalaiva has been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Congratulations to him.” said Prime minister Narendra Modi in his tweet.

Apart from the prime minister, actor and politician Kamal Haasan, Malayalam Super star Mohan Lal, Telugu super star Mahesh babu, Chief minister Edappadi K Pazhaniswamy, Leader of opposition MK Stalin, actor turned politician Vijayakanth and many other prominent members of film fraternity wished him the best.

In a way of responding to them all, on Friday, Super star Rajinikanth came up with a tweet writing “For all the love,greetings & wishes I’ve received from eminent political leaders, my film fraternity friends & colleagues,well wishers, media, every person who took the time to wish me & my beloved fans from across India & all over the world .. my deepest gratitude and thanks”

Along with the immense amount of praise, trolls also surfaced against the actor it seems. Director Perarasu who is known for directing Vijay in “Thiruppachi”, “Sivakaasi” and Ajith in “Thiruppathi” came up with a tweet slamming the people who trolled him.

“When Rajinikanth said that he is going to enter politics, a number of people opposed him. Now he has announced that he won’t be participating in the politics of Tamil nadu. On seeing people trolling him after receiving the award, I realized that we are living with cheapest creatures” said the filmmaker and BJP member in his tweet.
