The 10th annual Vijay Awards was held on Sunday, June 3 in Chennai. The event was attended by who’s who of Tamil film industry.

Dhanush, AR Rahman, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Atlee, Kasturi, Pushkar-Gayathri and many well—known names from Kollywood attended the event. But Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, the two stalwarts were missing.

Many celebrities were honoured for their works in 2017 and Pushkar-Gayathri’s Vikram Vedha bagged the maximum awards by winning in four categories.

The juries of the 10th edition of the awards show will be Actress Radha, Director Bakiyaraj, Director Anurag kashyap, Director K. S. Ravikumar, Actor and Film maker Yugi Sethu. It is to be mentioned that the event is happening after two years of gap.

Lady Superstar Nayanthara won two awards at the 10th Annual Vijay Awards. Nayanthara was chosen as the Best Actress and Favorite Heroine (voted by audiences) for her brilliant performance as the upright district collector Madhivadhani IAS. When the anchor asked, what would Nayanthara prefer to be, an inspiration to her fans or their favorite heroine? “They have given all the love to me, this is enough”, said the actress.

“When we made Aramm, the entire unit faced a lot of struggles. There were no producers to bankroll the film”, recalled Nayanthara. Nayanthara also felt happy for receiving both the people’s choice and critic’s choice award in Vijay Awards. Anirudh Ravichander who won the Best Singer Award for Iraivaa heaped praise on Nayanthara for being a sport that she shared screen space with comedy actor Yogi Babu in the ‘Kalyana Vayasu’ song from her upcoming film ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’.

Meanwhile, Vignesh Shivan the love of Nayanthara showed his warm gesture through twitter. He posted his picture with Nayanthara holding her awards. He also wrote  “With my award and all her awards”. And he also added “Mind Voice : Namma eppo ipdi award ahhh vaangi indha pulla kitta kudukaporomoo” which means “when am I going to make her happy like this with my awards??” Seeing this fans could not keep calm seeing their lovey-dovey in Twitter.
