India got all out for 170 runs in their second innings which left New Zealand to chase just 139 runs in the 53 overs that is left for the day. With hopes of India winning the historic World Test Championship getting slowly shattered, Indian captain Virat Kohli caught playing some mind games in the middle. He verbally communicated with the openers of the Black caps to distract them from scoring runs and to get them out.

In the ongoing final day of the World Test Championship finals, Indian top order batsmen returned to pavilion in regular interval. Captain Kohli got out in a terrific delivery of Kyle Jamieson followed by Chateshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. Till lunch, India scored 130 runs losing 5 wickets with a lead of 98 runs. Scoring just 40 more runs, the team got all out with the collapse of the lower order.

Meanwhile, to distract the batsmen of New Zealand openers, Kohli during over end called Ravichandran Ashwin and said “Ash . . One Wicket, Two Down For Tea . . We will have some fun then”. This gesture from the captain grabbed the attention of the viewers with many lauding the cricketer’s guts and few criticizing him for failing to bat well in the second innings of the match.

New Zealand scored 19 runs after playing for 8 overs in the second innings and need 120 runs in the remaining 45 overs. Devon Conway has scored 9 runs from 19 deliveries by smashing two boundaries whereas Tom Latham has scored 5 runs after facing 29 balls.
