Three years old video of Tamil filmmaker Pa. Ranjith criticizing the work of Lokesh Kanagaraj in “Maanagaram” movie is going viral now as Lokesh’s recent work “Vikram” is doing wonders in box office. In the video, Ranjith addressed how “Maanagaram” portrayed people of Chennai wrong by keeping the cuss word “Otha” in the centre point.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently busy giving post release interviews for “Vikram” starring Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi and Suriya. The film became a huge success across the globe and has collected Rs. 300 plus crore worldwide so far. Lokesh is being considered as one of the important face of Tamil cinema as he gave a blockbuster while Tamil cinema was in a desperate situation for one.

Interviews of the filmmaker are keenly followed by the fans of Tamil cinema. Expectation level for his next film “Thalapathy 67” has raised sky high and fans are also eagerly waiting for him to continue working on his “Lokesh Cinematic Universe” which he created through his “Kaithi” and “Vikram”.

Now, an old video of leading Tamil filmmaker Pa. Ranjith mentioning about Lokesh’s debut film “Maanagaram” and pointing out the problem he has with the film is doing rounds in internet platform with various kind of reactions from fans.

“Recently, a film titled “Maanagaram” was released and they showed the word “ngotha” as a problematic one. There was dialogue in that film. Why?? No other district people speak cuss word?? Be it Madurai or any other district, people here no bad word and hear them only after landing in Chennai??” Pa Ranjith asked in the video.

“This a whole different psychological problem. The one whom you think as an oppressed one in your home down, deals you effortlessly here. That’s why you are getting angry” he further said.
