A viral video that shows ruling party DMK’s Union Secretary Manikkam abusing a youth for entering the temple is going viral in social media platforms with many condemning the politician. The incident took place at Salem district and the youth who belongs to scheduled caste, reportedly entered the “Thirumalaigiri” temple.

The politician could be seen hurling abuses at the youth who was standing with his head down, in front of the people of the village. Manikkam believes that the youth’s entry into the temple is going to cause harm to the other people of the village and kept abusing him for the same reason.

After a point, he also could be seen pushing the youth for keeping his head down for a long time. Manikkam says that himself and other people of the village are watchful about such incidents and scolded the youth for breaking the norms.

The video also shows Manikkan threatening the youth to spoil his future by making him starve. “You think we all are fools” he was heard saying in the video which is going viral across all the social media platforms.

The disturbing video which is completely contrast to the ideology to the ruling party, is creating ruckus among the public. Many tagged chief minister MK Stalin, Sports minister Udhayanithi Stalin and other prominent DMK members, demanding strict action against Manikkam.

Reacting to the incident, DMK released a official announcement, stating that Manikkam got temporarily removed from the party for abusing a youth who entered a temple. “For breaching the rules of the party and for acting in a way of defaming the party, he is suspended from all the roles and responsibilities that he had with the party” read the note which was released from the desk of Durai Murugan, DMK’s General Secretary.
