Video of Chief minister MK Stalin putting safety mask on a youth’s face in Mount road to create awareness about wearing a mask amidst the pandemic situation is going viral in social media platforms. With active cases in Tamil nadu climbed to 10, 364 patients under treatment on Monday, Chief minister MK Stalin stopped his car and visited the streets to ask people to wear a safety mask. He went on to put a mask on a youth’s face himself to create awareness among the public.
1728 new cases and 6 death were reported in Tamil nadu on Monday. The sharpest increase was in Chennai as the city reported 876 new cases, the highest in the state. “as of now we are seeing a clear spike in Urban areas because of fresh clusters in schools, colleges, work places and markets, besides weddings, funerals and family reunion” said Dr. TS Selvavinayagam, director of Public health.

Of the six people who have died there were two each from Chennai and Krishnagiri and one each from Coimbatore and Kancheepuram. On Monday, MK Stalin inaugurated the COVID 19 vaccination camp for beneficiaries aged between 15 and 18 at a government high school near Saidapet, Chennai. Speaking at the event, Stalin said that the spread of the virus during the second wave could be checked owing to the efforts of the DMK government.
He said that the livelihood of people was safeguarded and the economy of the state was also improving and just when the state was on its recovery path, the new variant of COVID 10, Omicron, emerged. He advised people to be very cautious about the emergence of the new variant.
