Several reports emerged saying that the most famous statue man of VGP Golden beach died due to COVID 19 infection. In a way of clearing the air, the man himself appeared in a video and said that he is very much healthy and asked people to meet him in the theme park once the lockdown is lifted.

Dass is working at the VGP golden beach resort since 1991. The 60 year old man is fondly called as “Silai Manithan” and “Sirikatha manithan” by the families and kids who are visiting the tourist spot. He is very much known for controlling his laughter when the visitors tried making him laugh at least once. Now, as the government has ordered the tourist spots to remain shut due to the COVID 19 pandemic, he couldn’t work for past 5 months.

Now, several reports said that he died after getting infected with COVID 19 virus. People in social media started posting condolence messages for the iconic man. After seeing the news making it to the headlines, Dass himself appeared in a video and said people could see him once the government lift the lockdown restriction.

The video was released in the official twitter account of VGP universal kingdom. “I am working as a statue man in VGP. They are spreading rumours saying I am no more alive. But I am very much alive and healthy. Once VGP opens, you people can come and see me” he said in the video.

Sharing the video, VGP wrote “Some fake news has been going viral on WhatsApp and other social media about Dass our Statue Man. They have stated that he has passed away due to COVID-19, which couldn’t be farther from the truth. In this video, he is happy to inform everyone that he is alive and gearing up to meet all of you when we re-open. Kindly share this news with your friends as we need to stop the spread of this.”
