Vairamuthu’s First Tweet After The #MeToo Issue !! Check Out The Reactions !!


In the wake of #MeToo movement, there are plenty of women who have accused Vairamuthu on the basis on anonymity. But singer Chinmayi chose to tweet. She has recalled an incident that a concert organiser asked her to “cooperate” and visit Vairamuthu in his hotel room. She said this happened in 2005 or 2006.

Lyricist Vairamuthu also released a video in response to the several allegations of sexual misconduct that have been leveled against him. In it, he categorically stated that all the allegations were completely untrue.

“The allegations have been leveled with some ulterior motive. I am ready to face any legal action that they initiate,” he said.

On seeing this video Chinmayi took her twitter account to react. She said “Mr. Vairamuthu should take a lie detector test. Enough said.”

As it all happened few weeks back, the lyricist now posted a tweet after a long time in which he suggests the government to keep Tamil language as medium of instruction for the students which will help the language to take a permanent stance.

He says that he endorses the stand of Doctor Ramadoss, The founder of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and Pongu Tamil Development Trust.

He is leading a delegation of Tamil research scholars and submit a memorandum to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to make Tamil as the medium of instruction from primary school level from the coming academic year itself.

Dr. Ramadoss said one more round of consultative meeting would be convened to finalise the recommendations to facilitate the State Government to implement them.

Vairamuthu also added “Quality translators should get paid properly in order to get quality translations”
