Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan on Sunday took digs at DMK president MK Stalin. At the Rotaract Annual District Conference held in Tamil Nadu capital Chennai, Kamal Haasan said Gram Sabha is there for decades and only after he started holding such meetings in villages in Tamil Nadu that others started copying it.

The founder of the Makkal Needhi Maiam party was obliquely referring to DMK president MK Stalin and others holding Gram Sabha meetings. “Are you not ashamed of copying from a small boy?” he said.

At another point, Kamal Haasan said he cannot be wearing a torn shirt, and even if his shirt gets torn in the assembly, he would wear another shirt.

Kamal Haasan said this in another thinly veiled reference to Mr Stalin, who came out of the Tamil Nadu Assembly in torn shirt on Sunday when the AIADMK government led by Chief Minister K Palaniswami sought vote of confidence.

But Udaynithi Stalin made a blunder in his post as he seems to have no awareness of when and how many times Gram Sabha takes place in a year. According to the State Panchayat Raj Acts, the Gram Sabha must meet at least two to four times in a year.
For people’s convenience, in most of the States, four national-international days have been identified as reference dates for these meetings. They are Republic Day (26th January) Labour day (1st May) Independence Day (15th August) Gandhi Jayanti (2nd October). 

On seeing the dates in those pictures which Uday shared, twitter users started trolling him and said that those pictures are taken when Stalin went for vote hunt not while Gram Sabha. Check out some of their reactions here :

கமல் கண்டு பிடித்ததல்ல கிராம சபை. அப்படி அவர் சொல்லியிருந்தால் அது தவறு. அதேபோல் கிராம சபை என்று ஒன்று இருப்பது கமல் சொன்ன பிறகுதான் பெரும்பான்மை மக்களுக்கு தெரியும் என்பதும் மறுக்க முடியாத உண்மை.
