A 26 year old youth named Ajay Pandiyan fell into Kodaikanal waterfall while trying to pose for pictures and is still missing. The tragic incident took place on 4th of August and the youth has been identified as a Karaikudi resident. He was working in a private estate in Thandikudi near Kodaikanal in Dindigul district. The video is going viral in social media platforms with the users of it alerting one another to be safe and precautionary while visiting such places.

Ajay’s friend who was trying to click a picture of him with the scenary ended up recording the horrific incident. In the viral video, it could be seen Ajay asking his friend to click a picture of him with the waterfall in the background and goes deep into the rocks to make a “good looking” pose.

Finding a narrow space among the rocks, Ajay continued to pose for a few pictures and his friend recorded it as a video. After completing his poses, Ajay was adjusting his balance and all of a sudden slipped on the rock and fell into the waterfall while his friend shouted for help.

Police officials of that area has started making efforts to find Ajay. In the meantime, the video which was recorded in the phone of Ajay’s friend, is doing rounds in social media platforms.

According to reports, waterfall in Pullaveli village is highly dangerous and in the pas few yeas, nearly 5 people have died losing balance and falling down the rocks. For the past few days, Kodaikkanal has been facing heavy rainfall which probably made the rocks more slippery and increased the water level and speed of currents in the waterfall, said the reports.
