A huge protest was staged across the country by the supporters of party BJP seeking justice for the demise of 12th standard girl Lavanya who was believed to be a victim of conversion death. Tamil nadu BJP leader K Annamalai came up with a video of the victim in his official twitter handle and sought legal punishment against those who forced the girl to get converted into Christian religion from Hindu.

“Conversion is a fast growing poisonous plant in Tamil nadu. It is taking place in many parts of Tamil nadu, forcing poor people. State government should give importance to such crimes and bring things in control. Justice needed for the demise of the student” Annamalai said in his tweet which was posted on 20th of January.

After posting such tweet, Annamalai has been actively seeking justice by taking part in protests, sharing tweets and pictures in his official twitter timeline.

Now, Independent journalist Savukku Shankar came up with a tweet thread in his twitter handle, claiming that the allegation of Annamalai got busted. “In a freshly released video of the Thirukkatruppalli girl, the girl flatly refuses harassment on forced religious conversion. In the four minute video the girl says she was never asked to remove Sindhoor from her forehead by anyone in school on prompting by BJP office bearer” Shankar said through his tweet.

“Sources add Annamalai was well aware of the existence of this video and in spite of it has released an edited video alleging forced religious conversion by Sacred Heart School Thirukkatruppalli. Annamalai could be charged for criminal conspiracy, conspiracy to create religious riot, suppression of evidence, spreading false news with an intent to create communal riot apart from offences under IT act and Juvenile Justice Act. Annamalai was also aware of the 1098 child helpline distress call by the girl alleging physical harassment by the step mother of the girl” Shankar further said.

Tamil nadu finance minister PTR shared the tweet thread from his official twitter handle, expressing his concern over the communal tensions that were created around the girl’s death. “Even by the prevailing loose standards of Indian Politics, if facts verified, this marks a new low in TN. What kind of person tries to create communal tensions FABRICATING a 100% false narrative around the tragic case of a troubled teen? Some days, the stench is unbearable” Dr. P. Thiaga Rajan said.
