By Dhiwaharan
Seema Raja, the big festive release starring Sivakarthikeyan and Samantha Akkineni, was to release on September 13. Sivakarthikeyan, who enjoys a huge fan following, had early morning shows beginning from 5.00 am on Vinayaka Chaturthi. However, the shows were cancelled and screened from the next show.

Siva has teamed up with director Ponram for the third time for Seema Raja. Earlier, they worked in Rajini Murugan and Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, two films which won millions of hearts for Siva. Now, Siva has again teamed up with Ponram after a gap of two years. But this time, Ponram is not just handling an upcoming star Siva Karthikeyan, but someone who is aiming at becoming another ‘mass hero’ of Tamil cinema.
Another interesting thing about Seema Raja is that Siva is now locking horns with a female villain (played by Simran) in this film. This is a typical stint that many actors in Tamil cinema have pulled off; the ones who aim at appeasing the mass. From Rajinikanth’s Mappillai to Dhanush’s Mappillai, the examples are numerous.

After seeing the film, so many reviewers expressed their thoughts about the film. Sudhir Srinivasan, one of the prominent reviewers of the town watched the movie and first tweeted “Oh my. Picked the wrong film again, didn’t I? #Seemaraja”
Previously, he has worked at other top publications including The Hindu and The Times of India, and over the years, has interviewed many film personalities, including Mani Ratnam, Shankar, and Kamal Haasan. He also writes about his reflections on cinema for mainstream media. Also a writer of fiction, he’s presently working on a novel.

Following this in his review the writer literally bashed the film for being so frustrating and dull. In his review he even wrote “Seemaraja is also the sort of film in which a fat woman comes running and Imman utilises an elephant’s trumpeting as BGM in a bid to get us laughing. The scene’s as funny as a burning orphanage.”

On seeing his review Actor Vishnu Vishal who is known for films like Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Jeeva and now preparing for his upcoming thriller Ratchasan contradicted the reviewer’s thought and asked him “Hi bro…dnt u think reviews shud b frm majority point of view n not just ‘one point of view’ Beacuse lot of ppl read reviews n decide on watchin movies..well im not sayin u shudn write ur point of view but also include what othrs myt like or may not like:)corrct me if if wrong”

For this Suthir replied “Hi Vishnu. I get your well-meaning thought. But ultimately, film watching is a personal experience. It’d be impossible — and insincere for me — to try to presume other people’s responses. This is why I stick to sharing my own. I also never ask people to watch or avoid a film.”

On seeing his reply the actor asked him to converse over a cup of coffee which ended the healthy conversation between a reviewer and an actor as it is evident that there is no much bond between online reviewers and cinema industrialists.

While conversing over this topic Vishnu also replied to a twitter user who criticized his tweet. Here’s the user named prashanth’s tweet on Vishnu’s question :
This guy is an acto- I wanted to be snarky when I started this tweet but I am genuinely befuddled by people, especially the ones who have done good, offbeat work in cinema, sharing this belief.

Here’s Vishnu’s reply who says his views on offbeat cinema :
