India beat Australia by 36 runs in their ICC World Cup match in London on Sunday. Batting first, India hammered 352 for five, and then, bowled out Australia for 316 in exactly 50 overs at the Oval. This is India’s second win in as many matches. Shikhar Dhawan’s 117 was the cornerstone of India’s imposing total which also featured major contributions from captain Virat Kohli (82) and Rohit Sharma (57).

During the 40th over of the match, Smith who was in his 69 was trapped on his legs by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The ball from Bhuvi came back in off the deck, it might have been a slower one. Smith was looking to work it to the on-side. He played across the line and played it down the wrong line. Umpire didn’t raise his finger, India sent the matter upstairs and got it spot-on. Smith’s 70-ball stay came to an end.
Rohit Sharma who was standing near Ian Gould made a hilarious expression to his teammates pointing Ian who didn’t give it out in the first place. This video is going viral in social media platforms and Tamil meme nation comparing it to a familiar comedy scene of Vadivelu.

Rohit Sharma on Sunday (June 9) completed 2000 runs against Australia in ODIs when the two teams met in their World Cup 2019 encounter at The Oval. In his 37th innings against Australia, Rohit Sharma became the fastest player to get to the landmark, against a particular team.
Rohit surpassed his senior and Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record in the process, with the latter having taken 40 innings to complete the milestone, that too against Australia. West Indian great Vivian Richards, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni round up the top 5 on the list of players who took the fewest innings to 2000 ODI runs.
Rohit Sharma was finally dismissed by Nathan Coulter-Nile for 57 off 70 balls after putting up a solid 127-run opening partnership with Shikhar Dhawan.
