The debate between non-vegetarians and vegetarians on which food is healthy and tasty, is a never ending one as we all know. A public banter and verbal argument regarding the topic between the above mentioned two set of people is constant in social media. Now, a recent screenshot which surfaced in the micro blogging social media site, must have tickled the laughing bones of both of them who consumes either of the food items as it gave a brand new definition for the term “Vegetarian Egg”.

Many vegetarians include eggs in their diet, while still abstaining from eating chicken, cows, pigs, fish and all animals. According to terminology, you’re an “ovo-vegetarian,” that is, a vegetarian who eats eggs. Note that while eggs are vegetarian, they are certainly, under no circumstances, considered vegan. However, in India, eggs is widely considered as meat and most vegetarians in the country would refuse eating them.

Now, in this particular screenshot, which seems to be taken from a restaurant’s website or from their advertisement, we can see a new definition for Vegetarian egg. It includes in one of their dish named as “Vegetarian egg Biryani”. The restaurant which says that the dish costs Rs.599 says that it is an authentic home made Vegetarian egg Biryani made with flavourful Seeragasamba rice. Exotic Spices and Vegetarian eggs topped with fried onions and dry fruits are the other ingredients this dish required, their description suggests. However, the best is yet to come.

With a separate column, the owners of the dish wants their customers to “Note” that Vegetarian eggs are raised by “chickens which are raised with Vegetarian diet”. Their definition for the Vegetarian eggs, grabbed the attention of the netizens who started sharing the screenshot of it with hilarious reactions. “Hens are fed with Veg feed like corn instead of worms and insects But to call it Veg is too much.” wrote one of a user whereas another one wrote “Upgrade your knowledge! There are #Vegetarian eggs!” to troll the restaurant.
