Post the release of “Vikram”, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy giving interviews for youtube channels about his movie which is running successfully in theatres now. While the film is nearing its Rs. 300 crore mark, the filmmaker has been spilling beans about how he is going to treat the next part of “Vikram” and also about the universe he has created for himself. In an interview with film critic Baradwaj Rangan, Lokesh Kanagaraj talked about so many aspects of his recently released film including the “Rod” dialogue of Kamal Haasan which received huge applause in the theatres.
In the film, Jaffer played role of Vijay Sethupathi’s ne of the henchmen. Using his height as an advantage, Jaffer defeats his enemies by cutting the nerves in their legs. When he tries to kill Kamal by cutting his nerves with a sharp too, Kamal Haasan looks at him and says “Once upon a time, I went for fight and got my leg injured. A rod has been place there, it couldn’t be cut”
The scene received huge applause from the fans in theatre halls. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, while talking about that particular scene and dialogue, said that the scene was inspired from the real life of Kamal Haasan. Lokesh said that there wouldn’t be enough time to discuss “Vikram” and will be conversing with Kamal Haasan during his election campaign.

“We were travelling in sir’s charted flight for discussion as he was busy campaigning for his party in the election. At that time, he was keeping his one leg on a stool and he was in too much pain due to his uninterrupted campaign. He then showed the leg to me, No exaggeration, his leg looked like a beetroot. He said that a rod was placed in his leg. After three months, he said it was removed. It’s been a routine for him and I asked sir whether I could use it” said Lokesh Kanagaraj about how the mass scene evolved.

Further, in the interview, Lokesh Kanagaraj confessed about the possible sequels and prequels The filmmaker said that there was a scene for Mariyam George of “Kaithi” fame and said he removed it due to length issues. Lokesh also revealed about the past of “Dilli”. The filmmaker said that Dilli is a Kabaddi player and the bag he was carrying, contained trophies and cups that he won in participating in the Kabaddi game.
On the work front, Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set to direct actor ijay again which is tentatively titled as “Thalapathy 67”. He is also expected to extend his “Lokesh cinematic universe” franchise by involving the characters of “Kaithi” and “Vikram”.
