Teen student’s death while playing Kabaddi sent shock waves among public. A tragic incident occurred at Balaji College of Pharmacy in the district, where a first-year student collapsed while playing kabaddi on the college premises. The student, identified as Tanuj Kumar Naik, was 18 years old and hailed from Madakasira in Sri Sathya Sai District. He had enrolled in the college two months ago and was playing kabaddi with his classmates when the incident occurred.
According to the Administrative Officer Sreedhar, who was present at the time of the incident, Tanuj was standing along with five others on the court while the opposite team player came raiding. Suddenly, Tanuj collapsed to the ground, and when the staff immediately checked his pulse, it was weak. They rushed him to a nearby hospital, but the doctors advised them to take him to Bengaluru for further treatment. Tanuj was taken with ventilator support as he was unable to breathe properly.
Tanuj’s brother informed the college authorities that he had not taken the COVID-19 vaccine. Tanuj was in a coma for two days and unfortunately passed away on Tuesday due to cardiac arrest. The college staff and students financially helped the parents for his treatment.
This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of taking care of one’s health and well-being. Regular exercise and physical activity are important for maintaining good health, but it is also crucial to take necessary precautions and ensure that one is medically fit to engage in such activities. In this case, it is unclear whether Tanuj had any pre-existing medical conditions that could have contributed to his sudden collapse. However, it is important for individuals to consult with their doctors before engaging in any strenuous physical activity, especially if they have a history of heart problems or other medical conditions.
Furthermore, the incident highlights the importance of getting vaccinated against COVID-19. While it is unclear whether Tanuj’s death was directly related to COVID-19, his brother’s statement raises concerns about the low vaccination rates among young people. It is crucial for everyone, especially those who are eligible, to get vaccinated to protect themselves and others against the virus.

The college staff and students’ financial support for Tanuj’s treatment is commendable and shows the importance of coming together as a community during difficult times. The loss of a young life is always tragic, and our thoughts go out to Tanuj’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. It is important for colleges and universities to ensure that their students have access to proper medical care and support in case of any medical emergencies.
In conclusion, the incident at Balaji College of Pharmacy serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of taking care of one’s health and well-being, consulting with doctors before engaging in any strenuous physical activity, and getting vaccinated against COVID-19. It is crucial for communities to come together and support each other during difficult times, especially in the face of unexpected tragedies.
