Madurai Constituency’s MP Su. Venkatesan and Virudhunagar MP Manickam Tagore visited the empty land that was earmarked for the construction of All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Austinpatti near Madurai on Friday. Their visit took place a day after BJP party’s national president JP Nadda said that 95% of work on AIIMS Madurai got completed. Both the MPs made fun of the national party after visiting the empty land and gave interviews to reporters.

They even carried placards questioning the whereabouts of 95% completed AIIMS. Nadda, who was on a two day visit to Madurai and Sivaganga, was addressing industrialists of Madurai and Sivaganga at a city hotel. He said that Prime Minister Modi will make the right interventions for the growth of Madurai.

Claiming that almost 95% work of AIIMS is complete and Rs. 1,264 crore was alotted for the hospital, Nadda said that it will be dedicated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Another Rs. 164 crore has been added to AIIMS for creating an 150 bedded infectious diseases ward on the premises. The medical seats for AIIMS also increased” Nadda said.

As a reflection to his statement, Madurai MP Su. Venkatesan and Virudhunagar MP Manickam Tagore visited the spot where the hospital was supposed to be constructed and addressed the reporters. “AIIMS Madurai was awaiting the cabinet approval after its budget had been revised as Rs. 1900 crore from the initial estimate of Rs. 1200 crore”. Su. Venkatesan told the media.

“The tenders could not be floated due to this reason. I was told this was the reason when I inquired with the Union health ministry recently about AIIMS Madurai. But Nadda has said work on Madurai AIIMS is almost complete and is going to be dedicated by the Prime minister” the MP said.

“Similarly, the union civil aviation minister has ruled out many fund allocation for Madurai allocation. But Nadda said funs were allocated for Madurai airport” he further added. “We wanted to see if the bulbul birds constructed the hospital overnight because a lot of things happening with bulbuls in the BJP” MP further said to make fun of the party.

Virudhunagar MP Manickam Tagore uploaded a tweet saying that the hospital went missing at the spot after visiting there. “Thank you for the 95% Completed #MaduraiAIIMS
