Food delivery people are often subjected to a lot of shame from the public. Time and again they are hounded by some people. Allegations and spurious claims are made on the delivery people. Many incidents remind us how these workers are put into low standards by the people for free food and other trivial reasons.

A poster put in a building has been added to the list that humiliates these workers. In a food court in Udaipur, Rajasthan, an insensitive poster has been put that makes the people question the respect given to the food delivery workers. The poster targets the Swiggy and Zomato delivery workers.
Swiggy and Zomato are two major companies that are famous all over the country for enabling people to get the food delivered to them from their favorite restaurants just by few clicks on their mobile. In the poster, it is mentioned that the Swiggy and Zomato food delivery people should not use the lift and use the staircase.

This has triggered many people and they have vent out their anger on Twitter. They have shown their discontent with this act of segregation. Some have also told that people even maids and hawkers face the same trouble in some places.
Sobhana K Nair has termed this as, ‘Modern Day Feudalism.’

Judish Raj has commented, “Blacklist such buildings. Don’t serve there. In Hyd also I see many buildings where maids are not allowed to use the lift.”

Dear @swiggy_in and @zomato please make it clear to general public that when your delivery partners encounter this bullshit, the residents have to come down to collect their delivery. Your delivery partners are service providers, not slaves. And this is 21st century not the 10th. https://t.co/dyR7yKYyG9

If the delivery boys are carrying a certain weight they cannot be denied a lift, that's the Human rights convention which India is a signatory.

My society too wanted my labour to carry goods up floors with stairs, which is a human rights violation.

Do the people who have put a ban believe that Zomato or Swiggy provide their Delivery Boy with extra nutrients to climb 10-20 floors for every 2nd or 3rd delivery?

Or they don’t order food from Swiggy or Zomato or any other Delivery service?
This is downright dumb & insensitive
People who order food through #Swiggy & #zomoto need excercise not the delivery guys. Society Management committee has gone nuts.

Cut off from reality…even before pandemic… In almost every society there is a notice in lifts which says Maids and hawkers not allowed in lift. Use service lift or stairs. How do you define that? Class/caste/racism/discrimination/feudalism????
