“The utterances by the cine actor are unnecessary and unwarranted for being ignorant of the manner in which the entire judiciary of this state has served the interest of it’s citizens he state has been serving during this pandemic” Madras high court said.

Earlier, Justice Subramaniam of Madras High court wrote a letter to Chief justice to initiate contempt proceedings against Suriya for his allegation against the judges who ordered students to write the NEET examination amidst this COVID 19 crisis.

In his press note against NEET, Suriya criticized the court which ordered students to write exam during this pandemic situation. “The court which is providing justice through “Video conferencing”, in the fear of losing life due to COVID 19 spread, ordering to students to go the centres and write exams without fear” he slammed.

Suriya gained a state wide support for his press release with hashtags such as “TN Stand With Suriya” trended in Twitter. Six former judges of Madras High Court too had written to the Chief Justice against contempt proceedings.
