Former Chennai Super Kings Player Suresh Raina who went unsold in the IPL 2022 auction, came up with an emotional message in his official Twitter handle after the report on Dhoni handing over captaincy to Jadeja surfaced. He who is fondly called as “Chinna Thala” by his fans due to the special bond he maintained with “Thala” Dhoni, wished Jadeja the best and hoped for him to exceed the expectations.

On Thursday, CSK, in a statement said that Jadeja will be taking over the captaincy from Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the second most successful IPL team, Chennai Super Kings.

The statement of Chennai Super Kings clearly indicated that it was Dhoni who picked Jadeja to be his successor. It is notable that the left arm all rounder was retained for Rs. 16 crore ahead of the IPL meha auction.

“Jadeja who has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings since 2012, will only be the third player to lead Chennai Super Kings” said CSK in it’s statement. “Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings in this season and beyond” the statement further added.

Dhoni has been leading the four time IPL champions since the inaugural season in the year 2018. Suresh Raina captained the team in few occasions during the absence of the world Cup winning captain.

Now, as soon as the announcement was made official, Raina came up with a team in his official Twitter handle. Referring Jadeja as his “brother”, Raina said that he can’t think about anyone else taking over the team in which he grown up.

Many fans who felt that Raina could have been the captain of the yellow if everything gone well in the past. Missing the entire season of IPL 2020 due to personal issues, Raina didn’t perform well in his next season as well.
