Actor Sivakarthikeyan ventured into production with lyricist-turned-director Arunraja Kamaraj’s debut directorial venture Kanaa. The film, which features Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj, was based on women’s cricket.

At Kanaa’s audio launch, which was held on Wednesday (August 23), Sivakarthikeyan opened up about his second production venture. He revealed that his second film would feature television actor Rio of Saravanan Meenakshi fame.

Rio who is doing the role of the protagonist started off his career as an anchor in a private channel and then moved on to TV soaps. He is popular for his portrayal of Saravanan in the famous Tamil soap opera Saravanan Meenakshi. Rio is lauded for his quick wit and comedy timing.

Likewise, Sivakarthikeyan also started his career by taking part in a reality show. He then became an anchor before embarking on his film journey. Today, he is one of the most sought-after actors in the industry.

After days of speculation, the title of Sivakarthikeyan’s second production has been officially announced as Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja. The film is directed by Karthik Venugopalan of YouTube channel Black Sheep fame. “This will be a family-friendly commercial laugh riot with a strong social message. It stars almost every member of my Black Sheep family,” says Karthik, who makes his directorial debut with this film.

Talking about how Sivakarthikeyan got on board, the filmmaker adds, “It was Rio who informed him about our script. Sivakarthikeyan then asked for a narration, without telling us that he was interested in bankrolling the project. But then, since he was looking to back a comedy script after Kanaa, he zeroed in on Nenjamundu Nermaiundu Odu Raja.”

The video which the team released to announce the title had the “Super Deluxe” kind of narration. “Super Deluxe” is an upcoming film of Vijay Sethupathi who is doing a role of Transgender in the movie. The movie has Thyagaraja Kumararaja as director who gaev Tamil cinema the national award winning “Aranya Kandam”.

The makers of “Nenjamundu Nermayundu Odu Raja” spoofed the narration style of the “Super Deluxe” which has Vijay Sethupathi narrating a story of a man who is in a constant run for his life.

Apart from Rio, the film also features RJ Vignesh, Shirin Kanchwala, Put Chutney’s Raj Mohan, Radha Ravi, and Nanjil Sampath. With music by Shabir, post-production is currently underway, and the makers are aiming for an April release.
