Sivakarthikeyan is a well-known actor in the Indian film industry who has made a name for himself without any film background. He is not only an actor but also a singer, mimicry artist, presenter and producer. He began his journey as a program anchor on Vijay TV and has since become a leading actor in many films, earning a salary of crores.

Most of Sivakarthikeyan’s films have been well-received by audiences and have performed well at the box office. However, his 2019 film “Mr. Local,” produced by Raja and starring Sivakarthikeyan, was a huge failure despite being made at a high cost. The film was panned by critics and audiences alike.

It was reported that Sivakarthikeyan was offered a salary of 15 crores to act in “Mr. Local,” but a petition was filed in the Madras High Court on behalf of the actor claiming that he was only paid Rs 11 crore by Gnanavel Raja and refused to pay the remaining Rs 4 crore.

The petition demanded that Raja should not invest in making any films until he pays back the salary arrears. It also requested that the rights to release any films made by Raja in theaters and OTT platforms should be banned. In response, a petition was filed in the High Court on behalf of Raja.

In the petition submitted by Raja, he claimed that “Mr. Local” was made under duress due to Sivakarthikeyan’s insistence, and that he had incurred a loss of 20 crore rupees as a result. This case has been in court for the past three years, and during a recent hearing, Sivakarthikeyan questioned why he had not pursued a counter-case in this matter.

During the trial, both parties agreed to reach a compromise. In the presence of Judge Krupakaran, the two parties announced that they had come to an agreement, bringing an end to the case related to Sivakarthikeyan’s salary for “Mr. Local.”

While the details of the compromise have not been made public, the resolution of this long-standing dispute is a welcome development for both Sivakarthikeyan and Raja. Sivakarthikeyan can now focus on his upcoming projects, while Raja can resume producing films without the legal and financial burden of this case.

Despite the setback with “Mr. Local,” Sivakarthikeyan has lined up several exciting projects. He is set to star in a new film produced by Kamal Haasan’s Rajkamal Company, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, who directed the critically acclaimed film “Rangoon.” The film will be produced by Sony and Raj Kamal, and Sai Pallavi will be seen opposite Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role.
