Simran, is a popular Indian film actress, producer, and television personality who predominantly works in Tamil and Telugu cinema. She is one of the most successful actresses of the 1990s and early 2000s and is fondly referred to as the ‘Queen of Tamil Cinema’ by her fans. She has acted in over 130 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Simran started her career as a model before venturing into acting.

However, the film industry was shocked when Monal was found hanging in her apartment on April 14, 2002. Only a few hours earlier, she had attended the launch of one of her new films as the heroine titled ‘Pei Janmam‘. Her sudden death left the industry and her family devastated. Simran had at that time accused a dance choreographer of dating Monal and then suddenly breaking up with her. The reason behind Monal’s death remains a mystery, and it was a tragic loss for the entire film fraternity.

On the 20th death anniversary of her sister, Simran took to Twitter to remember her. She wrote a heartfelt message, “I may not have you here, but I know we will always have each other. Although it’s been 20 years, a little bit of you always lives in me. We all miss you, Monu. Forever.” Her message was shared by several fans and industry colleagues who expressed their condolences and support for Simran and her family.

Despite the tragedy, Simran continued to work in the film industry and has been part of several successful films.
