What it would feel like if our favorite Indian celebrities whose accent and looks are actually like Indians and we celebrated their portrayals in the movies when they disguise as pure Indians and someday came to know that they actually are not Indians. Yes ofcourse we know,that Katrina Kaif is not Indian (maybe her accent gave her away), and neither is Jacqueline Fernandez (she was Miss Sri Lanka, after all). But there are a few celebrities you had no idea were not Indian. They hold passports of a different country and since the Indian government doesn’t allow dual citizenship to its citizens, any Indian who obtains the citizenship of a foreign country is by law, required to surrender his Indian citizenship.

Yeah, you didn’t see this one coming! Akshay Kumar is a Canadian citizen. He gave up his Indian passport in 2011, for the same.

2. ALIA BHATT

Alia Bhatt is actually a British actress and singer of Indian descent who works in Hindi films. Beginning in 2014, she appeared in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list, based on her income and popularity, and in 2017, she was featured by Forbes Asia in their Under 30 list. Owing to her mom Soni Razdan’s British nationality, Alia Bhatt has a British passport. But she has grown up in India, primarily.

3. DEEPIKA PADUKONE

The reigning queen of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone has a Danish passport, as she was born in Copenhagen, Denmark.

4. IMRAN KHAN

Aamir Khan’s nephew was born in the United States of America. And hence he is officially a citizen of America. Trump won’t be very pleased.

5. THE GREAT KHALI

The Indian wrestler Dalip Singh, popularly known as The Great Khali, took up American citizenship a few years ago. It even created a minor controversy because he had not resigned from his honorary post in Punjab police.
