The veteran came into his own in the two knockout games, in the end, the Qualifier 2 and the Final. He scored a half-century versus the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Visakhapatnam in the second Qualifier to secure the team’s entry into the summit clash. In the Final, he had a patient start but converted it into a marvellous 80 off 59 deliveries with eight boundaries and four over-boundaries while chasing a target.

After Chennai Super Kings off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has now revealed how Watson batted through pain and a bloodied knee during the finals against Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad.

As per Harbhajan, the Chennai Super Kings opener received six stitches on his left leg after the match as he got injured while diving. “Can you guys see the blood on his knee.. He got 6 stitches after the game..Got injured while diving but continue to bat without telling anyone,” Harbhajan wrote on his Instagram story and shared a picture as well.

As soon as Bhajji posted it, fans started to re watch the match only to witness Watson’s knee and they took several screenshots of it to share it in social media to laud his effort. Many memes and posts surfaced in Internet thanking the veteran for his dedication :

As the tournament came to an end, Watson became active in social media and posted his first tweet to his friend and former teammate John hastings who started a new cafe in Frankston South, Australia.
