Followed by several other cinema celebrities, actor and cinematographer Natti aka Nataraj who rose to fame among Tamil audience through his appearance in “Sathuranga Vettai’, posted a series of tweets, slamming the makers of the youtube channel “Karuppar Kootam”. A legal case Surendran Natarajan of “Karuppar Kootam” youtube channel, has been registered by the Cyber Crime branch of Chennai city after BJP members made a complaint against him on Monday for making derogatory comments targeting Hindu Gods, especially on Lord Murugan.

Cases under relevant sections including Section 153 (intent to cause riot), 259 (p) (defiling a place of worship), 153 (A) (1) (a) (creating hatred between two religion) of Indian Penal code has been filed against the individual.

On Monday, along with BJP party members, several other Hindu organisations sought immediate action against a youtube channel named as “Karuppar Kootam” which allegedly made derogatory comments on Hindu lord “Muruga”. In a memorandum to District collector K Rajamani, representatives of party’s district unit and the outfits alleged a man in his Youtube channel made abusive remarks against “Kandha sashti Kavasam” which is a song dedicated to Lord Muruga.

Members of BJP led by Coimbatore Urban district secretary CR Nandakumar and leaders of Hindu Munnettra Kazhagam and Vivekananda Peravai said that they can no longer tolerate such “slanders” against their God and religion. They demanded stringent action including arrest, against the Youtuber for his derogatory comments which they believe could lead to a communal trouble. A latest report says that Nartheegan aka Surendran Natarajan has approached Madras high court seeking anticipatory bail after knowing about the cases filed against him.

Several cinema celebrities including actor Prasanna, actress Kasthuri reacted to the issue slamming the youtubers. Actor Nataraj aka Natti also reacted to the issue by praising Lord Murugan. “You fools, even Lord Shiva can’t blame Lord Murugan” he wrote in his tweet. “போங்கடா முட்டாளுங்களா… முருகனை பத்தி சொல்ல.. சிவனாலேயே முடியாதுடா..” his tweet read. Reacting to the Lord Ram issue where Nepalese Prime minister KP Sharma Oli made a controversial statement by saying that Lord Rama was born in Ayodhya village of Nepal and not in India, Natti wrote “நான் பேசற பாஷையும் போட்டுட்டு இருக்குற சட்டையும் தான் உங்க பிரச்சனைன்னா மாறவேண்டியது நான் இல்லை… நீங்கதான்..”
