Samantha’s Bold Statement On How South Actors Were Treated Once !!

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, one of the leading and highest-paid actresses in India, recently shared her thoughts on the south Indian film industry’s progress over the years. In an interview, she expressed her happiness about the industry finally getting its due recognition and how far it has come.
Samantha is among the many south Indian actors who have gained popularity nationwide in recent years. With the emergence of the “pan-India” trend, the south film industry has been booming and has been doing better than Hindi films at the box office. This success has not come easy, as Samantha revealed the struggles faced by southern actors in the past.
According to Samantha, until a few years ago, southern actors faced discrimination from high-end designers who refused to lend them clothes. She shared how they were often rejected by designers who would say, “Who are you? South actor? What south?” It was a time when southern actors were looked down upon and not taken seriously by the Hindi film industry and the fashion industry.

However, Samantha noted that times have changed, and the south Indian film industry has come a long way. She praised the current inclusivity in the entertainment industry and expressed her joy at being part of a time when southern actors are finally getting the recognition they deserve.
Meanwhile a months ago, In a interview with Bollywood Bubble, Samantha spoke about the impact of Myositis on her appearance. She shared that she has lost control over how she looks, with one day being puffy, the next day being fat, and the next day being sick. She said, “As an actor, your eyes are a medium to express emotions, and every day, I wake up with pins and needles in my eyes. I am sensitive to light. I don’t wear glasses just for fun and style, the light actually affects my eyes. I have an intense migraine, and I have intense pain in my eyes, they swell from the pain, and this has been the case for the past eight months.”

For Samantha, being an actor means being expected to display perfection on social media and in films. She admitted that she always wanted to be better and look better, but now, due to Myositis, she has no control over her physical appearance. She said that Myositis is “probably the worst thing to happen to an actor” and expressed her frustration with the unpredictability of the disease.
Despite the challenges posed by Myositis, Samantha has not let it affect her work. She is all set to appear in Shakuntalam, a romantic drama film directed by Gunasekhar. The movie will be released on April 14, 2023. Samantha has been actively promoting the film on her social media handles, and her fans are eagerly waiting to see her on the big screen.
