Sai Pallavi, is an Indian actress and dancer who appears in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam-language films. She is a recipient of several awards including two Filmfare Awards for her performances in the films Premam and Fidaa.

It is usual seeing our favourite celebrity to feature in an advertisement surprisingly. However, there are few celebrities who have no sense of responsibility when it comes to endorsing a particular brand, for example, fairness creams, alcohol, tobacco and such.

According to a report in Indian Today, Sai Pallavi has rejected a deal worth Rs 2 crores and has shown sense of responsibility by turning down this offer. The actress is known for simple and de-glam roles, and well, apparently, she decided not to endorse anything that she doesn’t believe in. Endorsing a fairness cream is against her policy.

Fans all over the internet are praised this action of the actress. Many celebrities endorse brands and causes without thinking of how it might influence their fans. At the same time, we have seen many actresses and actors take up the responsibility of endorsing brands which are in no way morally degrading or problematic.

Talking about this, Sai Pallavi in an recent interview with behindwoods said that she wants to break the stereotype of girls believing being fair is beauty. “When my younger sister Pooja thought that I was more fair than her I advised her to eat vegetables and fruits. Though she doesn’t likes them, she started eating to become fair which made me think it should be changed.” Sai Pallavi said in the interview.

“With the money I am getting for that ad, I am however going to eat and do what I am doing today. But what I wanted is the change in people’s mindset around me. This is the colour of Indians. We couldn’t say to Americans that their color will give them cancer.”

“Even I had these insecurities till doing Premam. When Alphonse asked me to appear in screen without make ups and haircut, I questioned him. Even today if I pick up a call the person in the other end will think that I am male because of my voice. So in whatever the way I had to change those insecurities, I tried to change it. This is the reason why I turned that opportunity down.” the Premam actress said.

This statement from the young actress gained her many accolades from the people in social media. Recently rumour surfaced that the actress is date with her director A.L Vijay. It is also said that the two are looking at a wedding in the near future and are expected to make the announcement soon. This rumour about Sai Pallavi dating AL Vijay has taken fans of the actress by surprise. However the rumour was denied by the director himself recently.

On the work front Sai Pallavi will next be seen with Sivakarthikeyan in a project that is going to be produced by Kam Haasan’s Raajkamal international. The film is going to be directed by Rajkumar of Rangoon fame.
