Television actor Karthik who is known for appearing in a serial named “Sembaruthi” after debuting through Vijay TV’s “Kana Kaanum Kalangal”, released a video in his official Instagram space seeking financial help from his fans to complete a feature film project. The actor says that he is expecting to collect Rs. 1.50 crore to Rs. 2 crore from his fans to complete the project and added that only Rs. 7 lakh has been collected so far. Earlier, Karthik released a video saying that some miscreants are stopping him from entering cinema and even challenged him to make it possible on his own.

Karthik is known among Television audience for a long time as he appeared as a protagonist in one of the seasons of “Kana Kaanum Kaalanagl”, a widely watched soap opera that streamed on Vijay Television. Karthik continued acting in a serial named “Office”, pairing with Shruthi Raj. After that, he rose to fame among family audience by acting as a protagonist in a serial named “Sembaruthi” that is getting telecasted in Zee Tamil channel. To pursue his career in cinema industry, Karthik opted himself out from the serial and started concentrating in cinema industry.

Karthik acted in a number films such as “465”, “Naalu perukku nallathuna edhuvum thappilla” but failed to make a mark in the industry. Most recently, he appeared in a web series named “Mugilan”, pairing with Ramya pandiyan. Now, the actor came up with a video in his official social media handle, seeking financial help from his fans follower. Karthik who enjoys 2 lakh plus followers for his Instagram handle, said that few people are stopping his entry in cinema industry.

“I was waiting to update about my next project through this video but I couldn’t do it. They are not letting me do any kind of project. They are doing a lot of politics and stopping my projects by working behind my back. Few wants me not to act in films. To be more precise, they are challenging me to act in a film. I can definitely complete a project. With the support of you people, I can provide quality projects. In that belief, I have started a production named “K Studios” and I am planning to do my next projects through the same” Karthik says through the video.

“I don’t have a back up to invest huge money and to produce a film. In my life, you people are the ones who supported me, irrespective of my situation. I have never asked you anything till now. But now I felt like seeking your help. No matter how small the amount is, you can contribute anything you can. Because, only through your support, I can pull this off” he further says and provides the payment details to his followers and promises to meet them with an update about the project.

Four days after uploading the video, Karthik came up with another video saying that he didn’t receive the amount that was expected. “Many transferred funds after watching my previous video. I thank all those for their generous gesture. I have asked the fund only to my fans and not to everyone. This is an attempt to prove them wrong who said that I couldn’t pull this off. I can’t do it without the support of my fans” Karthik said.

“My target is to complete the project with the budget between Rs. 1.5 crore to Rs. 2 crore. I thought that there will be at least 1 lakh people who likes me. If every one of them contributed Rs. 150 to Rs. 200, I can complete this project. But to be frank, we collected only Rs.7-8 lakh as of now. I don’t know why it got slowed down. Let’s wait for 1 more week. If the money we targeted gets collected, it will make all of us happy. Perhaps, if we couldn’t get the money, I am planning to refund the amount and it was a decision I made while uplading my earlier video” Karthik said. “I don’t intend to misuse the money and I request my fans not to think that I am insulting them by giving them the money back.” he added.
