Rohini Theatre issue is now trending in the Kollywood Film industry and is now creating sensation and is garnering attention among people.On March 30, two highly anticipated movies hit the screens in India: Silambarasan’s Pathu Thala and Nani’s Dasara. Fans eagerly gathered at theaters across the country to catch the first-day first show (FDFS) of their favorite stars. One such theater was the famous Rohini Theater in Chennai, which is known for hosting special early morning shows for leading stars.

However, the theater management found themselves in hot water when they refused to allow a tribal family inside the hall, despite having bought tickets for the show. The family belonged to the Narikurava tribe, and the incident sparked outrage among citizens who were present at the theater.

Actor Vijay Sethupathi has joined the chorus of voices condemning the Rohini Theatre in Chennai for denying entry to a tribal family who had valid tickets. Speaking at the inauguration of a photo exhibition celebrating Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s public life, Vijay Sethupathi praised the rare photographs and models on display and refuted claims that Stalin’s rise to power was due to succession politics. He also expressed his admiration for the Chief Minister.

When asked about the incident at Rohini Theatre, Vijay Sethupathi strongly condemned the oppression faced by the tribal family and asserted that such behavior was unacceptable. He emphasized that the earth was created for all human beings to live together equally and that it was important to stand up against any form of oppression.

Following Vijay Sethupathy, Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan has also conveyed his anguish towards the issue caused by Rohini Theatre. He stated that “even after those group of people having tickets it is a condemned behavior of not allowing them inside”.

After the video where the employee of the theatre refusing the entry for the group of people went viral, the group was eventually granted entry into the theater and were able to watch the movie. The incident was recorded by public and was released on social media which is garnering attention and is creating controversy among the netizens. Such a behavior is considered to be not acceptable since they had valid tickets for the movie and were not allowed inside.

Eventually the theatre has released a notice stating that the movie has a certificate of U/A and hence they have not allowed children below 10 years inside the theatre. And they have also said that the audience have turned frenzy and took different perspectives of the situation without full understanding. The theatre has also attached a video of the family watching the film after the issue getting the attention of the public.

Many celebrities started commenting on this issue and started accusing the theatre for this behavior including actress Priya Bhavani Shankar. She posted a tweet regarding this issue which supports the outrage caused.
