As schools reopened in Karnataka, a number of videos of school students being forced to remove their hijab by teachers at the gate are being circulated in social media platforms with many condemning the school managements for humiliating the students. The direction was made after the interim High court order which said educational institutions could re-open but no religious clothing would be allowed. Due to the hijab issue, school, colleges were being shut for nearly a week.
In a video which is doing rounds in social media, a teacher of a government-run school in Mandya district is seen ordering female students to “remove that hijab” before entering the school premises. The videos also shows the parents of the school girls arguing with the teachers but they end up making their children to remove their hijab in order to make them enter the premises to study.

Over 30 students in Kodagu district were sent back from school after they refused o remove their hijab. In the Sivamogga district, 10 students from class 10 and two from class 9 at the KPS school refused to remove their hijab after which they were prevented from entering the school.
It all started after a college in Udipi had denied entry to some students for wearing the headscarf which represents their religion. The decision resulted in protest from Muslim students, followed by counter protest from Hindu students who wore saffron scarf to educational institutions.
Now, the videos which shows teachers forcing students to remove their headscarf has created outrage among the online users.
What are you going to acheive by doing this ? What harm will this Hijab bring among children ? What you are actually doing is affecting these little kids mentally and making them feel bad for belonging to a religion. pic.twitter.com/F02pWxBvbI

See this entire clip. And weep. The sisters want to attend school like other children. The father has no choice but to remove their scarfs in public. I hang my head in shame. https://t.co/5q6aKWmxER

This was pre-planned humiliation of Muslim children and a kind of revenge.
If there is any law in this country to punish those who humiliated kids publically? https://t.co/XAE47B5NQj

So very sorry for failing you little girls like this!
Making them remove the hijab like this,is not liberating any girl or women but truly showing power over weakThe small cloth covering head of child has become a threat for this nation, while China invading the borders is not? https://t.co/cg7jUbeWyB
