Video of Salem Superintendent of Police Sri Abhinav arresting a BJP member for gathering in public without getting proper permission amidst the spread of a deadly virus is trending in the online platforms. The video shows SP Abhinav schooling the party leader for not being responsible and directing other Police officials to arrest a man who argued with him is going viral with people lauding the immediate action of the Police officer. Some of the online users opined that the video reminds the famous movie scene that took place in “Singam” movie where actor Suriya who played police role would confront villains single handedly.

The incident took place in Jalagandapuram which is located near Edappadi of Salem, according to reports. It all started after the members of Bharathiya Janatha Party planted a new flag post last month to celebrate the birthday of BJP leader Atla ihari Vajpayee in a market of Jalagandapuram.

Authorities of Jalagandapuram municipality removed the flag post five days ago as it was planted without permission. Reacting to the same, humongous number of BJP members condemned the act of Jalagandapuram municipality and staged a protest in front of the office. Headed by Kathir, Murugan a BJP politician, the protest saw 100 plus BJP members as protesters.

Slogans against the current government were chanted. They also planted a new flag post in front of the Jalagandapuram Municipality office, according to reports. Police officials who arrived at the spot, removed the flag post as a result of which a tussle took place between police officers and BJP members.

Just while the situation was getting worse, District Superintendent of Police Sri Abhinav arrived at the spot. A viral video shows the police officer questioning a BJP politician for not acting responsible during a pandemic situation. When one of the protesters tried arguing with him, the police officers pulled him and directed his fellow policemen to arrest him.

Reports suggests that more than 100 BJP members were arrested and it made the supports of BJP party at that area upset. However, the heroic act of SP Abhinay is being lauded in social media platforms.
