A Rajinikanth film needs no promotion. The much-awaited gangster drama ‘ Kaala’ is finally in theatres and has opened to an overwhelming response from the audience. If initial reviews are anything to go by, it looks like the Pa Ranjith’s film is a winner at the box office.

While the entire country is gripped by the ‘Kaala’ fever, the Rajinikanth-starrer has achieved yet another feat. According to reports, ‘Kaala’ has now become the first Indian film to release in Saudi Arabia, which recently lifted the ban on movies. Despite average advance bookings status, fans have received ‘Kaala’ with open arms all over the world. Reports suggest that ‘Kaala’ is Rajinikanth’s biggest release in the US till date.
Earlier, in some respite for the movie, the Tamil Nadu government granted permission for all the theatres screening Kaala to conduct a special show from June 7 to June 10. The movie releasing in over 500 screens in Tamil Nadu has witnessed lacklustre response for the ticket bookings.

Despite the missing hype around the superstar movie, Rajinikanth’s fans were prepared for the release of his movie after two years by erecting cut outs and banners beside decorating the theatres with festoons. The opening show of the Kaala began as early as 4 am in some of the theatres in the city outskirts with full attendance.
Meanwhile , a first of its kind incident took place in a theatre which belongs to Kaangeyam, Tirupur district. As we have not witnessed anything like this before the Theatre administration decided to pause the entry of “Kaala” for exactly 1 minute. The reason for the interruption was nothing but the fans. To give space for the fans to celebrate, the entry of “Kaala” was paused where the whole theatre went crazy that we can witness in the video below :
