“Pure Hatred Against One Man” – Theatre Owner On Govt. Allowing 100 % Occupancy In Theatres

From Monday onwards, movie theatres from across the country will be allowed to have 100 % occupancy, announced government as a part of the phased ease of restrictions of the Covid 19 lockdown. Till today, Multiplexes and cinema halls were allowed only 50 % occupancy to maintain social distancing and to avoid crowds amidst the COVID 19 virus spread.

“Good news for Cinema lovers: Today, Issued the revised SOP for the film exhibition, 100% occupancy will be allowed in theatres from 1st February, but all @MoHFW_INDIA #COVID19 guidelines will have to be followed.” wrote Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change; Information & Broadcasting; & Heavy Industries in his tweet.

Many people from across the country welcomed this move of the government as theatre halls were closed for past 7 months due to the COVID 19 outbreak. Reports says that the number of COVID 19 cases has also seen a decline in the past weeks which could have made the government to make this important decision.

However, a couple of weeks ago, when Tamil nadu government allowed theatres to function with 100 % occupancy ahead of “Master”, “Eashwaran” release, Centre intervened and reversed the decision pointing out the virus spread. Many people also criticized the government and actor Vijay who personally phone called the chief minister and requested him to allow 100 % occupancy.

Even a letter of a residence Doctor went viral across the social media platforms. In the emotional letter, the Doctor said that needs some time to breathe and requested Vijay not to release his “Master” in theatres with 100 % occupancy.
